I'm not for amnesty for these illegal dreamers....If Trump wants to give them amnesty he needs to get a hell of a lot more than just $5 billion for a wall. This may be a public relations stunt from Trump. what he should do next is tell the dreamers that the dumbocrats are not willing to even give him the money so they will now all be deported. He should tell them to pack their stuff up and get the hell out of the country.

He should also cut off the money given to Mexico and the other countries that these folks are coming from....The dumbocrats think that they are wining the debate on the wall, but everyday that goes by without a deal hurts them too. They have Pelosi and Shummer at the top and NOBODY likes them.Everytime they speak they hurt what's left of their party. Shummer slipped up the other day and said that Trump promised that Mexico would pay for the wall, then said, "ofcourse they voted for that" They like to claim that a wall is immoral but they know that most Americans want illegal immigration stopped.

Consensus is anyplace without Martin trumps Martin, even with an ignore button.

I think Trump set a trap here. He makes a reasonable proposal that gives the Democrats (who control the House) some of what they want and includes the border security he wants. The Democrats should take this as an opening from which to negotiate. Instead, they reject it out of hand. It will be their shutdown unless they negotiate.

And the longer the shutdown lasts, the more long-term damage it does to the party of Big Government because people realize they can get along well without so much government.

Progressives lack compassion and tolerance. Their self-aggrandizement is all that matters.

The liberal networks are really showing sob stories now. I hate to see anyone suffer, I've been dirt poor in my life and I know very well what it's like......Federal workers are mostly paid decently, some a lot better than others. It's tough to believe that many of them are suffering this bad after missing just two paychecks. too many people are living above their means and are in too much debt. That's a problem all over not just with the federal employees.

Obama gave billions of dollars in cash to Iran but the dumbocrats won't even give trump $5 billion to help stop the illegals from coming into our country.Pay the federal workers.... cut off all aid to illegals.....trump should use that narrative, our federal workers or the illegals, the dumbocrats need to make up their minds who they care about...

What's really bothering the Democrats -- who don't give a you-know-what about Federal workers -- is that we might get used to having less government.

He caved on this. Looking more and more like an Establishment RINO, as I said during the primaries he was. Still better than Madame.

The Democrats could still hurt themselves. If they don't negotiate, which they seem inclined not to do, then it will hurt them.

And I'll hold to my previous comment that the longer the shutdown lasts, the more long-term damage it does to the party of Big Government because people realize they can get along well without so much government. Especially if it's a second shutdown caused by their intransigence. I just hope President Trump and his people know how to take advantage of it and they don't give it away again.
