Where have we heard of that before? The hitters are definitely starting out behind the pitchers this year. At least on our team. And excepting Vavra, who's doing a pretty good impression of Rod Carew. The real pitchers have thrown well so far. A couple left to debut. Defense could be the best in the league. Seriously. If they can hide Santander especially. If the hitting comes along okay, we might have enough. Full years of Gunnar and Adley. Replacing Odor and Chirinos, who couldn't hit or field. Two new innings eaters and Grayrod. I can make a case that it's enough.
Roch rattling the drums about benching Mateo if he can't hit too. I've never seen a better shortstop, but the kids pushing up from below can hit better wrong handed. His OPS+ was 81 last year. And they can play in the field. So, could be.
