Shortstop Carter Young, drafted in the 17th round out of Vanderbilt, signed with the Orioles today. Young transferred to Louisiana State University and was expected to stay in school, so the news comes as a surprise.

Holliday scheduled for pro debut in FCL (Aug. 10)
The Orioles are set to brandish one of their new top prospects, scheduling top overall Draft pick Jackson Holliday for his pro debut on Wednesday in the Florida Complex League. Holliday is set to play five innings at shortstop while batting second.
