Down on the farm, Adley Rutschman went 0-for-4 with three strikeouts and is batting .194 with a .649 OPS since joining Triple-A Norfolk. He caught DL Hall, who allowed two runs and two hits with two walks and seven strikeouts in 3 2/3 innings.

Hall also threw a wild pitch and hit two batters.

The Orioles selected the contract of left-hander Nick Vespi from Triple-A Norfolk this afternoon and designated lefty Logan Allen for assignment.

Pitcher Logan Gillaspie was recalled from Triple-A Norfolk this afternoon to increase bullpen depth during a rough stretch of games. Infielder Rylan Bannon was optioned to Triple-A Norfolk.

Gillaspie, added to the 40-man roster after the 2021 season, has made nine combined appearances between Double-A Bowie and Norfolk and registered a 3.14 ERA and 1.186 WHIP with 17 strikeouts in 14 1/3 innings. He surrendered two runs in 6 1/3 innings with the Tides.

May 18: LHP Paul Fry traded to D-backs for RHP Luis Osorio
The Orioles officially cut ties with Fry, a longtime stalwart in their bullpen, by trading the lefty to Arizona during Wednesday’s tilt with the Yankees. In exchange, the O’s received Osorio, a 19-year-old who pitched to a 5.83 ERA alongside 51 strikeouts and 20 walks in 41 2/3 innings in the Dominican Summer League last year.
