I hope that the Pirates sell big in the next month. I would keep hayes and reynolds and any of the other position players would be available.... Bednar would be the only BP arm that would not be available... The Pirates finally have some pretty good prospects and they need to add to that with trades and the draft..

Adam Frazier, Rich Rodriguez, and Bryan Reynolds should be hot commodities.

Ga boy got traded today... just came through his home town of Bishop Ga this morning.....They got three minor league players for him... one a utility infielder with no power but ranked 5th best prospect by the padres.... The next guy is a young double A OF with 15 homers in 216 ab's this year... He's kinda tiny so I'm not sure his power will hold up but hopefully it will.... the third guy is a relief pitcher with a ton of strikeouts and too many walks in A ball... I was hoping for one good prospect atleast. If the 15 homer guy can continue to hit for power then he might be worth the trade, but I have little hope in the number 5 Padres prospect....

I will say this, BC has been good about getting talent back in these type of trades. the relief pitcher could be a closer with the huge k numbers that he's putting up....IF those two turn out to be a power hitting OF and a closer then I'm happy... Frazier is still one of my favorite players...

They won't trade Reynolds.... Hopefully they back they truck up though and unload a lot more this week..

The Padres have a deep system, so their #5 may well be better than #1 in a lot of other systems.

The Pirates traded RHRP Clay Holmes to the Yankees for minor-league IFs Hoy Jun Park (AAA) and Diego Castillo. Park is a left-handed hitting SS with some potential to be a nice addition for the Pirates, but the Yankees hve two good young SS in their top 15 prospects.

BC loading up with foreign born infielders.... The two that he got today from the yanks have some pop though... BC apparently trading for players that were not prospects before this year but have found power this season.Players that are under the radar that might turn out to be major leaguers...


I'd love to see BC trade with Tampa and get another ga boy, Josh Lowe...He's a real prospect....

Holmes is just a talent that never could put it together in Pittsburgh. He has the stuff but don't know how to use it and both catchers were frustrated with catching him...

They're both at Low-A Clearwater. It looks like the snag may have to do with the medicals on one of them.

frazier got a standing ovation from the padres fans as he took the field a few minutes ago...looks like his jersey is too small for him...

Tyler Anderson was still in the Pirates dugout in the 8th inning tonight.... trade has not gone through.... one report said the medicals for BOTH prospects were holding up the trade....

According to MLB Trade Rumors, the medicals for Hernandez (the young pitcher) held up the deal. It looks like it's collapsed.

Would have loved to keep austin davis in the pen.... Hopefully the guy that we got back can play first base until mason Martin gets here....

The Rodriquez deal might turn out well, I liked bryse Wilson until he got all of those tattoos, seems like he couldn't pitch well after that....The other guy was just a throw in but I believe that BC got more in return for Rod than a lot of GM's got for their relievers...I also think they can turn Wilson around and that he can be part of their rotation for a while...

The Cubs and Nats unloaded....Wonder how Javy Baez is going to get along with his new team mate Marcus Stroman....

Chavis is pretty good. I think you did well with Bryse Wilson too.

And the Cubs and Nats played each other this weekend. The fans were commiserating with each other. Some fans greeted one of the Nats relievers with "Go new guy!"

Two of the last five World Champions disassembled. Shocking. But it was what they had to do.

Those are both what I consider big market teams too.... which is concerning for me as a Pirates fan...
