Robles struck out, then a single sandwiched by a couple walks ends the inning when the Cards use the new 20 rule. No benefit to going deep in the count, swing away.

Fedde starts out with a single and a couple walks and then adds a wild pitch to allow a run. Might be time to sell off players for draft picks and start building for the future.

Victor Robles - CF
Andrew Stevenson - RF
Trea Turner - SS
Josh Bell - 1B
Kyle Schwarber - LF
Starlin Castro - 2B
Hernán Pérez - 3B
Blake Swihart - C
Jake Noll - DH

Erick Fedde - RHP

I see Elmer Fedde picked up where he left off from last year.

I saw a headline where Fedde was commenting about being in the same spot every spring, hoping to win the fifth starter spot. Probably out of context but the headline made it look like he was complaining. At 28 years old that is probably his ceiling if he doesn't make a leap forward this year. Good luck to him, he doesn't even get to his first arb year until next year. Kind of crappy the way the current service time rules are set up, a marginal guy like Fedde could play four more years and never get a really big payday while there are so many vastly overpaid vets.

Three home runs in a row works, nice to see Zimmerman get one of them after his history of slow starts. So much for the dead balls, might be they are using up the last of the 2020 balls.

Zuckerman reported that the Nats have now blown a ninth inning lead in every game so far this spring.

Hope Kieboom keeps it up at the plate.

Yep, Kieboom playing up to his potential is one of the key pieces that could make us a contender this year. Him, along with Harris, Corbin, Stras, Lester, Bell, Robles, Ross, Schwarber are all high ceiling guys who have something to prove either coming back from injury or bouncing back from a disappointing season. Six of those eight have good years and we'll roll into the playoffs.

Fedde starts again, they are giving him a real shot at that fifth spot, let's see if he takes advantage of the opportunity.

4. Josh Bell - 1B
5. Kyle Schwarber - LF

8. Carter Kieboom - 3B
9. Tres Barrera - C

Erick Fedde - RHP

A couple bombs from the new guys, Bell and Schwarber. Another shit start for Fedde, three hits, a walk, and three runs in one inning.

Four weeks and a couple hours until first pitch at Nats Park. They say usually the pitchers are ahead of the hitters early but the Nats are knocking balls out of the park. Martinez is slow rolling his pitching staff, at some point we are going to need to see our top line guys take the mound.
