My wife and Zach tested positive today. They both got sick on saturday afternoon/night. Both had fever and headaches. Zach has a sore throat and a cough....Wife has cough and is tired....Neither has fever now.... Last Monday when I found out that one of my wife's coworkers had tested positive, I moved to the other side of the house. She teased me about it until Saturday. I have no symptoms and feel great, I've been working as usual but I am wearing a mask every time that I get out which is not often. I almost peed in my pants this afternoon because I didn't want to stop at a business.I'm not going to be drinking water much tomorrow....

They seem to have the worst behind them. Zach laughed when they called to tell us that he was positive. He said that now he'll be able to tell his children that he had covid in 2021... I told him that I just hope that he'll be able to tell them that his dad didn't get it.....

Hey, think positively, get your rest, and follow the doctors orders.

You'll get thru this, let me know if you need anything Martin. Hope Zach and the missus are doing better soon too.

Thanks again John... I was kinda teasing, Ofcourse it's nothing to joke about but I'm in decent shape and the wife and zach's symptoms have been on the mild side... This is a different feeling that i've had when a flu has set in.This is draining.... no breathing problems of shortness of breath, nothing like that but just weakening,,,, I'll be ok...

Martin, if you have any questions you can pm me. My wife is a nurse at the local health dept. and can probably answer any questions you have.

Thanks Carolina..... I feel much better this morning. It was almost like the virus kept getting more intense until I went to bed.I've never seen an intense fever like that. It was 102 and then when I went to bed and was still for a while and it seemed to let up. I woke up sweating like crazy about 4 hours later.I have my strength back this morning too. No real symptoms now, but I'm going to have to stay home for atleast a week.I feel guilty working my brother and driver while I sit at home, but I just can't risk giving this to anyone else.

I haven't had a flu in 5 years. I had a 24 hour stomach flu then and it was much worse than this....

I actually sympathize. No one should have to go through this.
I am tempted to make several political points but I will control myself as I have come down on you for doing exactly that.

Our very healthy 30 year old neighbors went through a week of, literally, symptomatic crap, similar to what you describe with additional disgusting specifics.
Their two year old wasn't bothered in the least.
They are back at work as teachers (mostly remote.)
Take care of your loved ones.

My wife got her first shot. Mine will probably be next week.

Lord have mercy.... this is the worst thing that I've ever had.... last time that I had a fever was friday so monday I started doing a bit more and then yesterday I did a little bit more.... it KNOCKED my A^^ out!.. Fever back, I can't even walk from the guest room to the other side of the house with giving out. I had worried that my oxygen levels must be low so I had my brother get me a pulse oximeter that measures your oxygen levels....

My doctor said that I just need to rest and take vitamins....Might take another week or so to get back...

The wife says that if your oxygen level falls below 95% you should go to the ER.

Thank y'all for the concern and well wishes. I clearly misjudged Covid after getting it and thought that I was just so tough that it wasn't going to keep me down. After I had it for 5 days I still felt strong and could go anywhere that I wanted to go. But On Tuesday it knocked me for a loop. I have never had anything this bad, never felt this bad in my life, I haven't had headaches or fever in the past two days but I still can't even walk across the house without giving out. It's almost like someone has wrapped duct tape around me from my shoulders to my waist....

I've been checking my oxygen levls and they have remained around 98% with my heart rate around 70 So I don't think I'm near death but I just can't do anything.....

Got my shot. Headache and wickedly sore arm.
The administration of a couple of IPAs seems to have cured it.

A lot better than martin and the sufferers. Hope that you and family get through okay.
Cheers from Ohio.

This has turned into a nightmare for me.... Still can't walk more than 20 ft across the house without giving out......Looks like what they call long covid which can take months if ever to recover from..... If I'm not much better by the end of this week, it might be time to shut the business down, because my brother can't keep this up and he wants to retire.....I'm worried that damage has been done to my heart and other organs and I may not live much longer......

I want the cheapest casket that we have with direct burial. no embalming,,, buried the same day that i die...have written out directions to help wife find accounts.things that i have that she doesn't know about...

My brother is turning 62 this week, Been upset for a while now because he hadn't had enough time to spend at his junkyard,,,,It's tough to find people that will work for $10 an hour and when you can they aren't that reliable.....

Would the business still be profitable if you paid $15? That's only $200 more a week.

Yeah the business is very profitable these last two years. This spike in deaths have been very good to us. It would be more than just another $ 200 a week, the payroll taxes and the workers comp plus just more BS that you have to deal with.If I'm out, the overtime that we would have to pay would be huge too. Most weekends and holidays , I'm out there delivering. If our driver is out in SB,I sometimes get up early around 4am and get going to get the deliveries made......My brother didn't even realize how much that I was doing until I got sick.I've always just gone to work whether I've felt good or not...

This is tough, I hope that I am just real slow to beat this, I might wait another week or so, but if this is long haul covid, I'm gonna sell the business or shut it down until I heal up... Just thankful that we've saved our money.....Did learn from reading online that one of the things with this is that blood stays in the legs and if you prop your feet up that it helps when you stand up...

Our first acquaintance who got it was laid really low, although it sounds like you got it worse.
He is president of a small company and (I would guess) is in his young 50s.
He is also the elected head of our local Community Development Corporation.
Two months after he had it (in April) we had a small (10 person) widely spaced meeting in our back yard.
We were al suprised that he had had Covid. Weakness and symptoms were such that he said that this was the first time that he had left his house. He had two full workups to check for residual effects..
Like you, he said that he was not sure that he would ever get over it - but he had. Still quite tired. But with as sharp a mind as ever.
This was before news about people getting heart problems had come out. A mutual friend said that he has continued getting - slowly - better
I hear stories like his and yours and am even more supportative of making control mechanisms a priority, whatever it is doing to business.
Sounds like depression is a problem for you. Do talk to loved ones and if you can bite your male macho lip even a professional.

But most of all, follow Lee's advice. Tele-medicine is cheap and your knowledge of symptoms is the first thing they want to know. Do it. Anything is better than it impacting your whole life.

I get my second shot in two weeks. Anthony Fauci said that the Moderna vacc (what I got/will get) really knocked him out for a couple of days. Better than your story.

Yeah pogo, yesterday I was depressed and I never get depressed Today I feel some better.I'm watching my heart rate and oxygen levels. The oxygen levels have always been good, but when I'm sitting the pulse is 68-74... then before today everytime that I got up my heart would quickly go up to 95 and sometimes over 100, just walking 10 ft.Then when I would sit back down, would go back to the mid 60's to low 70;s.....Today though the pulse rate is only going to the mid 80's when I walk around. I walked outside to the truck which is not far and I was give out when I got back, but heart rate was still in the 80;s. Today is the first day in about a week that I don't feel chest pressure around the heart area...

I've been researching LONG covid or long hawl covid and there needs to be more reporting on it....I called my doctor two weeks ago when it hit me again in the second week. She gave me a steroid pack and told me to take vitamin D3, vitamin c and zink...I hope that none of y'all get this.
