Knowing crap about the Os I assumed Sheehan had hit the high spots. Previously he was perceptive about the Indians - and our division
where I knew enough to follow what he was talking about. Even though we were the least mentioned potential playoff team on his feed.

My team's ability has been the transmission belt that has consistently brought along
pitching as established stars either aged or priced themselves out of our market. Pickup pitching has done all right, but rarely what made a difference.
Obviously we have had good players, but for every Brantley Lindor or Ramirez we have had some newbie star pitcher. AND everybody has stars in their regular lineup.

The sort of thing has been noticed by Sheehan.

Other team's castoffs were better by definition than most of our team. It was usually a reasonable gamble.

We finally spent some international dough. This, like advanced metrics, doesn't give us an edge. It just levels the field a little. We signed the 15th and 30th ranked prospects. So, yay, but that averages us out to 22.5. Mathematically, we got lapped by almost everybody else. If you can follow my logic there. it's only the tip of the iceberg that gets you better. So maybe the 15th guy jumps to 7th when it's done. It was better than not playing, which used to be us.

I think Eddie Rodriguez of Boston fame is our last Dominican ball to big leaguer. Now covid has damaged his heart. Sucks for him. Happy for the Red Sox.
