martin's view is contradicted by most observers - and me.
I thought that Harris did better, but that she missed multiple chances to nail Pence.
On Covid. "On multiple occasions the administration has issued political statements on the crisis that purported to come from the CDC and other health agencies.
The countyr's own health experts have been forbidden from putting out warnings. Why?"
"Hundreds of ranking soldiers and diplomats, many apolitical or previously serving Republicans have come out in support of Biden as they say Trump policy has been a disaster. Comment."
"Trump has promised a replacement health care plan, a plan to protect DACA kids, and plans to deal with multiple issues that he has not even drafted. Why believe that he has any plan for anything?"
Trump 's admin has started to admit that there are climate problems, but has loosened dozens of evvironmental restrictions and not tightened anything. Why?
"Trump consistently uses slur words to attack anyone who disagrees with him. And then says he wants to work together. Is he nuts?" (actually that's my question.)
"Mr Veep. You have been asked 6 direct questions here that you have not answered in the slightest (List them) You have no answers.
Harris avoided one question that Pence totally ignored, that either candidate would be the oldest ever to be inaugarated if elected and what does that say about the role of the Veep? Pence could have said that he is there and ready,
but that would have acknowledged the implication of the question, that B & T are old & might die. Probably Harris avoided it for the same reason.
Pence talking over and refusing to stop or answer questions offended almost everyone, even on FOX. So why think he won?
I somewhat agree that Pence was asked more hard questions. But he represents the incumbent and as such has policies to speak to.
That should have been an ADVANTAGE, but it wasn't as they have no policiy except cut taxes on the rich & on companies to boost the economy. Harris did allright on that one.
Oh, and to pack the court. Harris was ready to lay that one on Pence (Quoting Lincoln
) Harris was accused of Dem plans to pack the SC. I think that she should just have said no. But Pence didn't answer a single question she asked him, so why should she respond? If she had, Pence would have quoted some obscure Dem who has actually suggested adding to the numbers.
So that's two debates lost by Dump & mini-Dump. And now the Dumper refuses to do another - not even suggesting alternatives to deal with the problems others see. Somone brighter than he must be wanting to stop further disasters.
