Starting to see various sectors (like movie theaters) asking for a bailout.I think helping the workers who are most hurt by this thing is a good idea, and they're doing that. But that's it.

Joe Biden has spent his entire life trying to succeed in presidential politics, and now he has. Too bad he’s not there to enjoy it.

I'm sorry. Why should the taxpayers subsidize this? No subsidies, no bailouts.

We have programs in place to help the employees who are laid off. Perhaps we need to expand those. But no bailouts for anyone.

Progressives lack compassion and tolerance. Their self-aggrandizement is all that matters.

I'm not in favor of giving all adults a check either. Sure it would be nice to get a check for $1000 but I don't need it and only those that really need it should get it....I told Zach tonight that his whole future might take a turn if this virus gets bad.....I'm concerned about so many people staying home and what could happen. If an enemy wanted to attack our power grids, this would be WHEN they might do it.....

There's no way to identify "who really needs it". None.

Example, and it's one of millions, but illustrative. My daughter has a small farm. One of her enterprises is goat yoga. She was actually the first franchisee of the lady in Oregon who invented it. She had 4 special events booked for March and April. At colleges. $4000 gone. Also two classes booked at the farm. Maybe another $500 or so net. Yoga teacher teaches for her and several other studios. All her income gone. Yoga dough was slated to pay workers to help plant ghost pepper crop she landed a deal for. Those workers were already selected. Now it's good ol' Dad,, working for free. And paying his own gas 20 miles each way. That's 6 people who lose a slug of income, not a damn dime of which will show up on the books. Last year's goat yoga is on her tax return, but she can't file unemployment or such. The government can't look and figure out she's loosing $4500 in two months. She knows of two farms that have no other business except goat yoga. Melissa teaches yoga classes as a 1099 contractor. No unemployment for her. No record of lost income for any of those people. There are millions like them/us. It's a trillion dollar shadow economy out there.

There will be no more goat yoga classes at the farm. That high tunnel space will go to the peppers. The liability insurance is about $100 a month. It's not really worth doing at these prices, with the peppers really kicking a$$. The special events make a bunch, so she'll keep doing those.

My son-in-law works for a community college that gives him Fridays off in summers, which will be yuge as hell this summer. We're potting soil for 250 plants in the greenhouse today. I think their high tunnel is getting about 400 plants, and we're deer fencing two acres outside soon. That's all an aside. My daughter inspects farms for the state. They keep working. People gotta eat. There will be no more goat yoga classes at the farm. That high tunnel space will go to the peppers. The liability insurance is about $100 a month. It's not really worth doing at these prices, with the peppers really kicking a$$.

Ninety-nine percent of everything you(Trump) say is either false, crazy, incoherent, just plain cruel, or a rancid paella of all four.

In terms of tribulation, Americans have had it ridiculously easy compared to the rest of the world. How would we handle real catastrophe? Would we simply collapse into anarchy?

BB, your example shows the subtle, yet huge, impacts of this thing.Things radiate outward thru society from every tiny business that stops operation as you have illustrated..The government can't begin to fix all of it.We mite have to be tougher than we've been since the Indians were raging at our doors. They're doing a stimulus bill which could turn into a big Christmas tree for interest groups.NO WAY I'd give most help to individuals. They'll spend the money that provides the stimulus.

The stimulated become the stimulus. Just like a porn film.

I potted 250 5 gallon containers. 46 3 cubic foot bags of medium. It took 5 hours. I may have to have my elbows amputated tomorrow.

No doubt the younger generation like your daughter Bawl needs more help than the government can give .Many Americans are gonna lose big over this.People my age though that have saved and not wasted money should be ok...My point was that I would feel guilty getting a check for any amount when there are so many others that do need it...I talked to my wife this morning, if they send us any money we are gonna find somebody around here that actually needs it and help them out.

If you watch these news channels, it's the end of the world, it's easy to get caught up in the doom and gloom. It depends on how long this goes on as to how much damage that it does to our country.I do believe that some things will be changed forever.

Potting mix. $13 for 3 cubic feet. Grows hair on billiards balls. Double purpose. We built the greenhouse last year, on shale and clay after the pad was leveled. They put in a cover crop of mixed junk, to turn under this year. When the potted peppers are done, we dump the pots in there for more soil composition. They have some huge piles of hay and poop from the barn composting outside. Those will go in once they break down all the way too. Bigassed high tunnel greenhouse - 30x72 feet. Take a ton of material to add 6" of topsoil. Plants grown to maturity in the high tunnel yield about 5 times what their outdoor counterparts do. Managed properly, shaded, fertilized, deloused, and irrigated. The pots can be placed closer together than the plant spacing too.

Funny story. Some of the cover crop was white radishes. A year later, they are monsters, probably most of 20 inches long. But they all grew about 8 inches, hit the shale, and took a 90 degree turn. Every damn one of 'em is a perfect boomerang. They pulled a big pile of them in case the donkeys and goats like them. Donkeys have delicate stomachs, so if the internet says it's safe, they can each have one. Goats are geniuses of self determination. If it isn't good for them, they won't touch it with a ten foot pole. They leave some interesting pasture patterns behind them. The chickens will whack anything the other animals don't like. Win.
