The fun part of this is that I don't expect to be given a choice, I expect the team to refund the minimum amount allowed based on the law, MLB directives, and court order, but a mix of rain checks plus some money back would be interesting. I just hope we can get the games back in DC this year and have it safe for the crowds to return.

The Twins GM Dave St Peter (great porn name) said that MLB will be issuing teams guidance on "refunds, credits or other incentives" by Tuesday next week. I'd expect credits and other incentives for plan holders, the Nats policy is always to squeeze the most loyal customers the hardest. The refunds for single game buyers will be processed 30-60 days following the cancelation.

MLB announced today that they are allowing teams to determine their own refund policies. I'm expecting the funds to hit my credit card by Friday.

Additionally, a plan was revealed to start playing games in July, with realigned divisions, with empty ballparks. Doolittle's wife isn't going to let him play this season, but I don't care, get nine guys in Nats uniforms and I'll be watching. Play ball.

Cubs, Angels, White Sox, Red Sox, Phillies, Cards, Indians, Twins, Reds, Pirates, Padres, Giants, As, Mariners, Orioles, Rangers, Royals, Astros, Blue Jays.

By my count, 19 of 30 teams have now offered refunds for April and May games. The standard offer is a full refund or a bonus credit if you use the tickets this fall or in 2021. The Orioles are offering a 25% bonus if you exchange the tickets for a game in 2021 or 2022.

The Brewers just became the first team to only offer exchanges, no refunds.

Still waiting on the Nats. If offered I'm taking the refund. Why do I need credits for more tix if I already have a plan. Plus, no chance that I'll be allowed to resell tickets purchased via credits, there will likely be black out dates, and the credits will be good for full price tickets which I can probably find better than 25% off for most games. It kind of sux that the team is going to take a major financial hit in a season when they should be flush, but I'm taking my money anyway.

Here is the Red Sox policy:

"Individual ticket-holders can receive a full refund from the Red Sox, a credit to their account for later this season or in 2021, or an exchange of tickets for a future game this season.

Season ticket-holders will have the same refund and credit options, with the perk that choosing an account credit will result in a 10 percent bonus credit that is “incremental to the total dollar amount of their season tickets for these games,” according to the team.

Ticket-holders will receive an email to make their selection. No response will mean an automatic refund."

Why not? How do they stop you?

Progressives lack compassion and tolerance. Their self-aggrandizement is all that matters.

The Nats deal with StubHub allows them to block certain resales, plan holders are not allowed to resell reward or exchange tickets. Sometimes they block the bar code from being listed and sometimes they call you after the sale with a warning that future perks will be cut off if you keep selling. You can still sell via other sites but for Nats tickets StubHub has the most buyers and least hassle despite the sky high fees.

The Nats are fortunate that only 24 home games in April and May have been canceled, they would have had 33 road games, so a lot fewer games impacted. They have to be looking at the laws in DC, MD, and VA, I bet they wish they could limit refunds based on DC law, but from what I've seen they will need to refund fans from Virginia.

I'd be surprised if they don't push plan holders to donate some or all of the money to the Nats Dream Foundation (now renamed). I'd bet they're also trying to see if they can make refunds conditional on signing up for 2021.

Like the Washington Post and NY Times I do enjoy slapping on a click bait headline.

The Braves announced their refund policy this morning. 20 teams are offering refunds, one is not, and nine have not yet released their policies.

The Dodgers, Rays and Marlins are now offering refunds. Only six teams left.

The Mets and Yankees are both offering credits not refunds for cancelled games. The Tigers are doing refunds.

There are three teams yet to announce their policies, the Rockies, DBacks, and Nationals.

The Nats ticket reps are calling plan holders to say that their policy will not be released until next week and that they are working on a package to try to entice fans to forego the refunds. That better be one hell of an offer to get me to pass up cash when we still have no idea when the ballpark will open again.

The Rockies are now offering refunds, it is down to just Arizona and DC left to announce whether they will offer refunds.
