Any win against the Cubs is a good win, but that was special!

Neil Walker gets his first walk off homer.

The Cubs will probably finish last this year. They may be a threat in a couple of years though...They're bad now and the kinda team that the Pirates need to sweep.

The Pirates need to trade for offense, or they're gonna fight for . 500 this year themselves.

I got home just in time to see the 9th inning. I was hoping for walk off in the 9th, but I'll take the homer from Walker in the 10th..

Undefeated, although they tried to gag that game away last night.

Melancon and Grilli are looking like the Melancon and Grilli of late last year.

I'll take that one. Alvarez hits two, and Ishikawa gets #1!

I wasn't big on the signing of Volquez. I was not impressed with his spring numbers either...

I didn't see the game that he pitched in last week but had read where he looked good in it. Today he was mighty impressive!

Forget signing Hurdle and Hunnington, the team needs to lock up Ray Searage longterm. If he can get Volquez straightened out with his mechanics and turn him back into the pitcher that he once was, he should be named manager of the year!

It would be AWESOME if they can pull Volquez off of the scrap heap and turn him back into an effective pitcher. It would also give the Pirates options to trade.Perhaps Wandy could be part of a deal to bring a power hitting first baseman or SS to the team.

It was nice to see them beat Wainwright today. On paper going into the game it looked like a sure win for the Cards.

The Pirates are advertising the 35th family reunion this year. It's hard to believe that it's been 35 years since they won the 1979 series....

I can't stand the Brewers, they suck. The Pirates just lost their first series this year to them. Volquez is a keeper! He pitched well but an error by Alvarez cost him one of the two runs that he allowed.

About to get swept in Milwaukee. If leyland was still managing he'd tell lanny frattare, " well lanny we're just not a very good team right now."

The pirates offense needs to wake up and do it soon. I heard Chris welch on the reds broadcast say that Johnny Cueto was looking for payback this week against Lirano and the pirates.

Looks like they'll lose tonights game on a bad call by the umpire. That's a shame too because the Reds had just challenged a fair/foul call when Snider got hit in the face by the ball..... But Greg Brown said they couldn't challenge a fair/foul call if the umpire was standing right there... he was and that fair call was a foul ball..... and a costly one for the Pirates too...

This years team ain't going to the playoffs. Will somebody please tell Snider how many outs there are in an inning....

If Tabata is hurt bad, who will they bring up? Polanco? The Astros called up super stud, George Springer today so it could happen.
