Happy Birthday to Theodore Roosevelt 'Ted' Lilly (Class of 1999), Edward Robert "Ted" Wood (1993) and former Expo/Buc/O Jay Tibbs!

One of the finalists In the running for last Expo standing until being released by LAD in August, Lilly had been parts of trades with Vladi's brother for the grumpy Perez brother and 12 years later for Eli's son Brett. Lilly made ~$80M in his career - not bad for being the PTBNL sweetener in the Jake Westbrook (~$62M) for Irabu trade in back in 2000.

... and still no quote from the article! I wonder why that is? cool frown blush crazy smirk smile grin laugh. Nope can't keep a straight face. I know exactly why.

Happy Birthday to Carl Anthony Pavano (1998-2002), Randy Max Ready (Class of 1993) and Matt Maysey (1992). One of the biggest teases in recent memory (Helluva post season in '03 though), one of the All Time MLB porn names and one just kind of forgettable - despite his career OPS of 2.000.

Happy Birthday to Otis Nixon! The 2nd half of Otis' career (aka Post-Expo), and Montreal (1988-90) got nothing for him) saw him start to be fairly useful besides just having some success on the basepaths.

Happy Birthday to former Expo farmhand Armando Galarraga (at the time the 'who's that?' in the Nat's 1 year acquisition of A. Soriano now most famous for his 'perfect' one-hitter), Delino DeShields (1990-93, traded in what was widely viewed as a salary dump to LA for relief pitcher and future HOF Pedro Martinez), Dr. Mike Marshall (1970-73, traded to LA for the late Willie Davis), the late Tony Solaita (Calss of 1979, "Buried: Immediately outside his home,in Nuuuli, American Samoa ": B-R), traded mid 1979 season to Toronto for the at the time, and current, 'who's that?', Dyar Miller and to the Curt Brown who pitched in 11 games in 1986-87, not the one who got 4 AB in 1973.

Happy Birthday to Brad Fullmer (1997-99)! Part of a 2000 3-way 'why bother' trade that neither hurt nor helped Montreal, not Texas nor Toronto as Fullmer, Lee Stevens and David Sequi played musical chairs but with the same number of chairs.

Fullmer did get to drink champagne in Anaheim and stole home in the 2002 World Series.

Happy Birthday to Bill Sampen (1991-92) and 1970 ROY the late Carl Morton (1969-72)! Back in the day I thought Carl's 1971 Topps card with the trophy on it was the coolest thing.
