No pitcher. Somebody doubtless will. Some, will play behind him.

Then on to Detroit. WifeBawl and I can share a tv for three days. She's been groovin' on mlb radio all season, and watching when the Tigers are in Pittsburg. She's reliving her youth.

Off the top of my head.

Gates Brown, Kaline, Lolich, Freehan, Denny McClain, Mickey Stanley, Jim Northrup, left hand hitting first baseman whose name escapes me right now, there was a big right handed starting pitcher, a black man, I forgot his name too, Tom Matchik. I recall in the 1968 world series the Tigers manager moved centerfielder Stanley to shortstop, the first time he had ever played there. Seems like I remember they had a lefthanded reliever that was very good. I might recall some more later on.

Cabrera just passing Kaline on the hits list. Pretty good top on your head. Cash. Horton.

Brinkman. Aurelio Rodriguez and Horton. Hiller, McCaulif, Wert, Timmerman all from wife. And boss Mayo Smith.

Earl Wilson might have been the pitcher.

Baker didn't suck. Akin's turn.

Hiller, that's the lefty reliever I think. How in the world did I forget outfielder Willie Horton and the first baseman Norm Cash.

My brother in law caddied for one of those guys. Forgot, but I think McCaulif. Free bonus fact, my father in law was Mark Fidrych's dentist.

I hope his career lasted longer than Fidrych's did.

It lasted until he sold out. He croaked a year or two back.

Sorry about that.

Lucky break there. Another save for the beast.

He was a dick.

Big Ben started a rumor that G-Rod stuck out 8 dudes this afternoon.

He struck out 8 in 5 innings, Baummann k'd 6 in 3. G-Rod was pulled after 80 pitches.

Adley hit a homerun today and is hitting .200 at Norfolk.

G-rod is still throwing too imprecisely. I hope he can dial it in a little better.

I hope there is no health issue. If not, I'm not worried about him.

8 Ks seems healthy.

Bring him up. Seriously.

Re: 1:15 Thursday game. - 13/05/2022 00:32

I could argue both ways, but that would be incest. If you added another 5 innings of shutout ball a week, it would be a startling impact. Do it twice, or even three days out of 7. Our bullpen could go nuts on people.

What difference is a few more starts for Norfolk going to make, I wonder. Who would you rather see in the rotation, Watkins or Grayson?
