Indians so far. 4/12/2018 - 12/04/2018 22:13

Indians lead the majors with 77.3 innings pitched by Indians starters. We have a winning record with almost no offensive production.

You probably won't gain much offense tonight either, against our ace. On the other hand, you might not require much. For this game, advantage Baltimore.

Pogo, your team needs a veteran power hitter like Mark Trumbo.

Re: Indians so far. 4/12/2018 - 22/04/2018 22:13

Well, today we improved slightly from being the no hit wonders previously.
We've always done well with people named Ramirez.
When you can only get one run in 16 innings, (4/18) we don't exacty put fear into the opposition.
Kluber blew up our ERA by pitching his worst game of the year today with.three runs, two thanks to two Machado homers.
Our four starters are all under 3, and you saw our fourth guy yesterday on his best performance yet.

And your guys didn't look like shlunks. We had (aah) a couple of good days.

The above reads like hubris, but you have to remember how close we've come in the past, so it's holding our breath time whenever we do something right.

If it makes you feel better, this time next year will see Machado in pinstripes.

You verge on the insulting BB.
Why would we want any good player on the MFY?
There are some things that go beyond simply wanting to win a game.

You've got this one. We couldn't score two runs if you spotted us one and a half.

Re: Indians so far. 4/12/2018 - 31/05/2018 15:53

As of 6/1/18 we have a five game streak going. Seven of the last ten.
Our bullpen, previously admirable, still bites the big one although they no longer automatically give up a lead.
Our starters are still okay with one significant exception .
Got two wins from AAA pitcher Adam Plutko.
Hitting has been admirable against weak opposition, with several players posting top ten stats.
But when we face good pitching it all closes down.
We are now showing an actual above average record and dominate the (very weak) central, and have isolated wins against the Cubs & Astros.
But as stated above, we have yet to show up with any consistency against good pitching.
And our pen leaks runs like a bad case of diarrhea.

But Kluber has a 2.02 ERA. And has given up no more than 3 runs in more than 30 reg. season games.

So, Britton would help?

Re: Indians so far. 4/12/2018 - 29/09/2018 17:31

All in a week we get a grand slam walk off. We score ten runs in an inning. We beat the Red Sox twice - & lose to them once (if you look at both lineups you can see that that signifies nothing)
We lose a couple in walk offs - and win another, in addition to the grand slam.
Basically we are the best and worst out there, depending on the night.
Four pitchers with 200+ strikeouts - & the fifth guy callup, Beiber has 118 in 114 innings pitched.
So why are the Indians the forgotten AL winner? They play in the central, and the sometimes brilliant hitters f___in collapse against good pitching.
I am watching every game, barring other responsibilities, but my doom and gloom says that it'll be another they blew it again season.
Better than no hope at all, but I am 70. My heart probably will not take another season like the last three.

Better than worst ever. That's for sure. Good luck to yours.

Re: Indians so far. 4/12/2018 - 09/10/2018 00:02

Well there goes that f____n season.
Three Pitcher errors plus a little bit of creative umpiring. Also a couple of the damned luckiest hits that I have ever seen.
Could we have won the third game? Yeah. But sometimes the other team gets a break.
And you have to make your own breaks. Our hitters didn't. Our bullpen didn't.
We didn't deserve to win.
And we sure as hell didn't.
We are a better team than we showed in the playoffs.
And the Astros were one hell of a better team on the field that we were.
Congratulations to them.
